This week, around 20 SWEAH PhD students are visiting the partner university Dalarna University campus in Falun. It's time for the autumn PhD Student Days, 4-5 November, packed with lectures, workshop, discussions and networking.

This time the theme is "Future career path". It is important to have a well-thought-out plan to become a fully-fledged researcher in aging and health.

What does your dream career look like?

– My dream career would be to be able to carry on doing research on loneliness prevention by promoting older adults social participation witin their everyday activities, using digital solutions. I feel that I have only scratched the surface of this major and complex health challenge and would thus like to explore and address it further, beyond my PhD, says one of the doctoral students, Linnéa Körlof, Luleå University of Technology.

What will you be doing in five years?

– By then I hope that I have made some form of clinical impact with my research, leading to positive influences on older adults health.
